This book is hardcover and the binding is very good quality. It's a bit bigger than regular journals which is nice because the writing space is generous. I bought this for my older daughter and we plan to fill it out before she goes to UCLA. She can then keep it for herself, so this is a very nice journal that can't be erased from a phone or hard drive

If I could rate this more stars, I would. There are questions to get you writing, free space for free writing or doodling, handy ribbon bookmarks and the quality of the journal is sturdy enough to keep this journal for years. We take turns writing in the journal and when we are done, we slip it under each other's pillow. She gets so excited to find it under her pillow (and I do too). I will be purchasing another one in a few years for my younger daughter. I look forward to seeing how this helps us keep an open communication through the teenage years. I recommend this journal to every single mother/daughter. I hope the mother/daughter duo who created this journal work on another journal so that when this one is filled up, we can work on another one.
